What Is Sprout ?

SPROUT is an interdisciplinary case competition that was established in order to facilitate inter-faculty collaboration for undergraduate students. The competition provides participants with not only valuable networking opportunities in the Ryerson community, but as well as with partners and professionals in the community.

Students are tasked with solving a real-world case by liaising with professionals and academic experts. They are able to showcase valuable team-building and problem-solving skills and get valuable coaching throughout their case competition experience.

At the end of the case competition, groups present their project to a panel of judges, earn a certificate, and compete for a cash prize and a chance to develop their project further.

The Society of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities (SASSH) is the student-led student society for all undergraduate Faculty of Arts students. SASSH started an interdisciplinary case competition in May 2019 for the enhancement of experiential learning and professional development of Arts students and the wider Ryerson community. Now, SPROUT is a separate committee of its own with an oversight from SASSH.

SPROUT provides an array of social, professional, and academic benefits:
